Valle d'Aosta - a valley and autonomous region of Italy, is a special place on the world map. The Alps here, in the Mont Blanc - Monte Rosa - Gran Paradiso triangle, reach the greatest height, but here is the "thinnest" place of the Alpine arc; to cross all the Alps here it is enough to cross only one pass. Therefore, the city of Aosta, the capital of the region, which gave it its name, has always been a strategically important place, which is why this region is distinguished by a colossal number and variety of monuments of all eras and cultures.
